Everyone in this house was overwhelmed, disappointed, upset and grunting at the world this weekend.
David did not want to go to Washington Manor's information night, because he wanted to enjoy some time at home without homework. He resisted until the last minute. But we really needed to go just in case David does not get into KIPP. It was even more important now that they had lost our registration at KIPP.
I was annoyed that this teacher that received my application did not turn it in. I was glad that I could still do something about it, but even so, something this important? you would think they would be extremely careful!
All of us --specially Alfredo, were in a fit because some vandals damaged our Oldsmobile. Alfredo had been trying to save money (you know... gas prices) and he had been going to work by bus and BART, and now he spent almost the same amount he saved in many weeks fixing the front glass.
What goes around comes around, and I believe in "Karma"... specially when it 's something like this, when somebody does some harm just to be bad. I mean, why shatter a window? Why couldn't they shatter the rear side one? It would have been better because then you could drive the car. But no, it had to be the front one so it would be more expensive to have somebody come and fix it. Idiots...
So, even when we have had fun, because Tere & Alfredo Sr. came to the house and we went out to eat, and we enjoyed their company, when they left we were back to our sad faces. It's just one of those times when many things go bad at the same time... Some we can share in the blog, some we can't.
Hubby is specially blue. I hope he feels better soon.
More news when we feel better.
